I am not a fan of dumb
slasher films. Teenagers who find themselves in trouble and make poor
decisions seems to ask for death and you find yourself losing interest
in the film and cheering on the bad guy to hurry up and kill them for
being stupid. That being said, here are four women spending time in Las
Vegas for fun. They are staying in a motel and one of them is a victim
of a crime. The alpha female, Reyna, takes charge of the situation by
taking the law into their own hands but in a case of mistaken identity,
someone else pays for the alleged crime.
In a series of bungled chances and missed opportunities, the quartet sinks further and further into the abyss of uncertainty. And then there is another twist into this journey, a death and you don't know why but you find out about that later. You have to wonder why they should have taken the advice from Mai and that was to call the police but you see why they didn't.
It is brutal, it is puzzling and it is graphic and just as you think the ordeal these women have gone through has come to an end, there comes the final twist and an uncertain nail in the coffin when you discover someone who turns out to be not the person you thought they were.
The only thing I had a hard time with was Reyna's thick accent. At times it was hard to understand what she was saying. Some ADR work would have been helpful. Overall, it has the right amount of naked women, graphic sex and violence to recommend seeing this.
